LEE WATERS

My journey to becoming a designer started long before I knew it was a career. As a kid, I was constantly rearranging furniture, driven by an instinct to make every space feel just right. That curiosity led me to start my undergraduate degree in interior design, but a personal detour to a different university without the program led me to get my degree in Art Education. After teaching for a year, I knew my true calling was still in design. I went back to school for an MFA in Interior Design, and after graduating in 2012, I launched Lee Waters Design. As I’ve built this business and completed my family, I've realized more than ever that our environment is everything when it comes to feeling happy at home. I believe a great home should feel both aspirational and deeply personal, and I’m here to show you how to add more fun, funk, and function to your life.

After two decades of nonprofit leadership and practicing as a social worker, I decided to invest in my own creativity by earning a certificate from the University of Richmond's Interior Decorating program. I launched Marble Moon Interiors in 2022 and during that time developed my signature mid-century modern futuristic style. For me, thoughtful design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about making intentional choices that have a lasting impact on the lives of our clients, the communities in which we live, and the world. My core values—accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability are at the heart of everything I do.
